Exciting and Encouraging run at Pete Orr Memorial
Matt, BJ and the team were very encouraged by Saturday night’s race, the new motor and setup combination and Matt’s terrific performance. Matt qualified and started 7th, and had moved up to 3rd when a caution came out for oil on the track with two laps two go. In a green-white-checkered finish, Matt and other cars hit an untreated oil area in turn 1 and ended up hitting the wall with the nose of the car suffering nose and radiator damage.
Matt, by far, passed the most cars on the track, made clean and smart passes, and had top 3 speed. That may have been the best race Matt has ever run. Looking forward to Speedweeks starting Friday.
